RS treatment for Swift
Another version of Suzuki’s popular baby.
ADDING an eighth version of its popular Swift hatch will further enhance not only that car’s standing but also Suzuki’s in general, the distributor has suggested.
Wanganui-based Suzuki NZ has announced an RS derivative that adds sporty touches to the 66kW/120Nm 1.3-litre model line which provide visual similarity to the 103kW/120Nm turbocharged Sport flagship.
In supplied comment, the company has expressed positivity about this $21,990 (five-speed manual) and $23,990 (CVT) edition enhancing the sale potential of a car that, it says, continues as the most favoured new car choice of private buyers and in April was the second best-selling new car or SUV model.
Last month also saw the Suzuki brand ranked fourth highest in local new car and SUV sales, capturing eight percent of the total market in April. In year to date sales, Suzuki holds seven percent of the market, a percentage point up on its position for the same period of 2017.
The SR stands out by having bespoke 17-inch alloys with 205/45R tyres. It also gets a rear spoiler, the rear windows and hatchback have privacy glass and it takes Swift branded lower side body mouldings. It is also distinguished by SR badging on the ‘C’ pillar and rear hatch.
Cruise control, a speed limiter, height adjustable driver’s seat, and a tilt-adjustable leather-covered steering wheel with audio controls and Bluetooth feature. The CVT auto has touchscreen satellite navigation, reversing camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. There’s no explanation why these features are denied the manual.
The model has ABS with EBD, hill hold control, stability programme and six airbags.
